WASHINGTON (7News) — Every good and balanced NFL offense needs a passing game and a running game. The Washington Commanders had both last season and ranked among the league’s best in many offensive metrics.

But to take that next step, the team will be looking at running back Brian Robinson Jr.

In many ways, the pressure is on for B-Rob, who has reached the fourth and final year of his rookie contract.

“I need to take my level of focus up,” Robinson told reporters during the team’s mandatory minicamp at team headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia.

Robinson said he knows how important it will be to put together a good season and continue to evolve as a player and professional.

“That’s been the goal since I’ve stepped foot on this campus, to prove who I am to not only just the program but to myself, and this is the biggest year to do that,” he said.

Robinson admits he worked hard in the offseason to stay sharp.

“I never get comfortable with nothing,” he said. “Even the skill sets that I’m best at, I never get comfortable with. Constantly working on my craft, day in and day out.”

“Yeah, he looks, number one, really healthy,” said head coach Dan Quinn. “We got him back on the return game as well on the kickoff side. So, you feel his urgency and intensity for it, but he’s really thrown a good offseason, he really has.”

In 14 regular-season games, Robinson rushed for nearly 800 yards with 8 touchdowns. However, he said it’s the team’s success that far outweighs his own.

“Just having a great, amazing season like that, you never want to take any moment for granted,” he said. “You definitely don’t want to miss those moments; you want to be out there; you want to play your best. So, I think just coming off a season like that, you want to capitalize.”
