GREEN BAY − The offseason program is officially over for the Green Bay Packers.
The team wrapped up mandatory minicamp June 12 and won’t be back on the field until the start of training camp July 23.
The overall attendance was good for the Packers with a few players who didn’t participate during on-field activities.

One was Quay Walker.
The 2022 first-round draft pick has had plenty of bright spots with the Packers, leading the team in tackles in each of his first three seasons, with more than 100 each year. He recorded 102 total tackles (72 solo), 2.5 sacks and two passes defended in 2024. However, he missed four games last season, one due to a concussion and three from an ankle injury. He also missed three games in 2023 due to a knee injury.
The former Georgia linebacker is preparing for his fourth season with the Packers. He didn’t participate in minicamp during the week, instead spending time with the rehab group. Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he didn’t suffer any setbacks during this offseason as his reason for missing minicamp.
“I wouldn’t say it was during the offseason program,” LaFleur said. “I think there were some residual effects from the season.”

The Packers didn’t pick up the fifth-year option on Walker, unlike his teammate and fellow 2022 first-round pick Devonte Wyatt, but general manager Brian Gutekunst said earlier this offseason that the team wants to sign him to a contract extension, keeping him in Green Bay for the foreseeable future.
“I think we collectively have high expectations for him,” LaFleur said. “He’s a guy that I think going into Year 2 of this system, he’s mentally much further along and having a foundation of playing in this league now a few years, and he’s played some really good football. I think the challenge is how consistent can you go out there and play your best football. I expect him to be ready to go and play his best ball this season.”
Here are other takeaways from LaFleur’s media availability.
Several players sat out at least one day of minicamp
Walker was not the only player who missed time during minicamp.

Among the players who were out for at least one day (injury related or other) were Jayden Reed, Nate Hobbs, Christian Watson, Elgton Jenkins, Aaron Banks, Zayne Anderson, Kalen King, John Williams, Messiah Swinson, Micah Robinson, Julian Hicks, Kamal Hadden, Omar Brown and Collin Oliver.
When asked if there’s any concern about players not being available for the start of training camp, LaFleur said, “I would say hopefully not.”

He added, “They’re attacking (rehab) the right way, but where they’re going to be, I can’t tell you. It’s just a wait-and-see type deal. But I would anticipate those guys being ready to go, at least if it’s not initially at the start of training camp, sometime throughout training camp.”
Mark Murphy’s final practice
After Brandon McManus drilled a 58-yard field goal, LaFleur ended practice about 40 minutes early to conclude minicamp.

As the Packers gathered on the field, LaFleur brought outgoing president Mark Murphy into the huddle to address the team for a final time.
Murphy is retiring from the Packers after 17 years and will be replaced by Ed Policy during the annual shareholder’s meeting July 25.
The Packers gifted Murphy a signed helmet.
“As great as a leader as he is, he’s an even better man,” LaFleur said of Murphy. “Appreciative of him of the opportunity to be part of this great organization. It’s changed my life and my family’s life. I also love the way he leads. He’s going to let you do your job, but he’s also there and supportive all along the way during the good times and not-so-good times. He’s very special to, I think, all of us here.”
The final breakdown led by Murphy to end minicamp: “1, 2, 3, Super Bowl!”
