The Oregon Ducks have exhausted plentiful resources on offensive lineman over the past few seasons. Just this offseason they acquired one of the best offensive tackles in college football, Isaiah World, through the transfer portal.
They are also on a short list of teams who are finalists for five-star+ offensive line recruit Immanuel Iheanacho. These moves are largely to replace the hole at tackle left by Josh Conerly Jr. who was selected in the first round of this year’s NFL draft by the Washington Commanders.

Surrendering just one sack and nine pressures last season, Conerly Jr. was considered one of the best offensive lineman in college football. He is a huge man, standing at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, but his athletic ability and nimbleness are what make him such an intriguing talent.
Mandatory minicamp has opened up for the Commanders and the 29th overall pick is already turning heads. Veteran tackle Laremy Tunsil spoke to the media after the team’s practice Thursday afternoon and had a ton of praise for Conerly Jr.
Tunsil said the rookie would be a “dog” and cited his athleticism and flexibility as the main reasons for this belief. That is significant praise from one of the most accomplished offensive lineman in the game which should give fans confidence about the future for Conerly Jr.
