Fan curiosity around minicamp usually surrounds the high-profile newcomers, whether first-round draft picks or top free-agent acquisitions. It’s a controlled environment where players typically aren’t going full speed, making it hard for other players to stand out.

But that isn’t the case for one undrafted free agent at the Minnesota Vikings minicamp. Cornerback Zemaiah Vaughn, who played his five years of college ball at Utah, is making an impression on spectators like The Athletic’s Alec Lewis.

Vaughn brings good size as a UDFA. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 187 pounds on the Vikings’ official website. PFF credited him with one interception, five pass breakups, and two sacks in 2024, helping give him a final grade of 65.5. His best season, according to PFF, came in 2023 when he had eight pass breakups, allowed only one touchdown, and finished with a grade of 76.9.

Like Lewis said, it’s hard to draw any definitive statements in minicamp. But Vaughn can push for a roster spot if he can carry this momentum into training camp and the preseason. The Vikings have found success with undrafted free agents in Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s first three seasons. Vaughn could continue that.
