The Seattle Seahawks held their final mandatory minicamp practice on Wednesday. The team announced that training camp will begin on July 23rd. Competition continued heating up at the final practice before camp.
The Seahawks are attempting to sort through their offseason position battles, particularly across the offensive line. Olu Oluwatimi earned the bulk of first-team reps at center during OTAs, but sophomore blocker Jalen Sundell occasionally rotated into the starting lineup. At Thursday’s final minicamp session, Sundell and Oluwatimi alternated pretty evenly, according to Gregg Bell. The same occurred at right guard between Christian Haynes and Anthony Bradford.
The update on the guard battle was fairly expected. Bradford and Haynes competed last offseason as well, and all throughout the 2024 campaign. With neither blocker really separating from the other, and no notable offseason reinforcements at RG, the Seahawks will allow Bradford and Haynes to compete again.

The news at center, however, qualifies as a bit surprising.
Oluwatimi took over as the 2024 midseason starting center following Connor Williams’ abrupt retirement. The Seahawks remain high on Sundell, however, a sophomore undrafted free agent. Sundell is starting to push Oluwatimi for the first-team gig at center, a development that should pick up steam at training camp.
