ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly picked up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Drake London’s contract.
According to reports from league sources, London is now locked in through the 2026 season since he is still on his rookie contract. The team was able to pick up the option before the league-wide deadline on Thursday, May 1.

“You know how we feel about Drake: He’s a stud on the field,” Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot said during the 2025 NFL Draft. “He’s everything we’re about.”
The former first-round pick had his first-ever 1,000-yard season in 2024 as he caught 100 passes for 1,271 yards, along with a career-high nine touchdowns as he started all 17 games. He was one of four players in the league with at least 100 catches, joining wide receivers Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
London also had his best career game in a Week 18 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers, where he caught 10 passes for a game-high 187 yards and two touchdowns, his first multi-score game.
“Everybody knows that when the ball is snapped, No. 5 is going to be giving everything he’s got, every single snap, whether he’s blocking, running around, catching, run after catch,” Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson said back in January. “He’s an incredible football player and another guy that’s just going to keep getting better.”
In London’s first three seasons, he has recorded 241 receptions for 3,042 yards and 15 touchdowns in 50 games. This past season, he became the first player in franchise history with at least 65 receptions in each of his first three seasons and passed former Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley for the franchise record for the most receptions in a player’s first three seasons.
