After a full slate of OTA’s and a couple minicamp practices, the Raiders are moving on adding veteran competition to the roster. In addition to signing LB Germaine Pratt on Wednesday, they are working out a familiar face for Pete Carroll.
Shaquill Griffin is one of the top remaining unsigned free agents. He has bounced around the league the past few years — spending time with the Jaguars, Texans, Panthers, and Vikings — but he began his career in Seattle where Carroll and the Seahawks made him a third round pick.
The 6-0, 198-pounder was an immediate starter and in his third season headed to the Pro Bowl.
Should he sign with the team, he would join a competition at cornerback led by newly added free agent Eric Stokes, rookie Darius Porter, and third-year former starter Jakorian Bennett.
