If you ranked the top ten NFL quarterbacks, where would you rank Jayden Daniels?

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst on Pro Football Talk, Chris Simms, took on the task last week. Simms really likes what he saw in Daniels in his first season, so going into the second season, Simms is not playing around. He ranks the Commanders’ second-year quarterback at No. 5 in his rankings.

Here is what Simms had to say when ranking Jayden Daniels:

“Jayden Daniels, can you believe I am saying that? It’s been one year in the NFL, the top five quarterback in the game?…I can’t get over all the great decisions from Jayden Daniels. He played the game like he was a fifth-year veteran this year…We worried about his skinny nature, right? I still worry about that a little bit. But also because he is so long and tall, man, he throws under pressure over the line of scrimmage more than I even thought…To know where to go with the football, never miss the target, never chase pipe dreams…Jayden Daniels was like, hey, five yards, boom. I’ll hit it. I’ll bore you to death. A bunch of tiny little cuts because I am the surgeon until this thing opens up…”

Here is how Simms ended up ranking his top ten NFL Quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season:

10. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

9. Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Bucs)

8. Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers)

7. C.J. Stroud (Houston Texans)

6. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

4. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

3. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

2. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

1. Lamar Jackson Baltimore Ravens)

Simms did provide some more commentary on Daniels, including some negatives. Here is the segment link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DszxnqXkkXI
