There are high expectations surrounding the Houston Texans heading into the 2025 season after two AFC South division titles. The offense should be improved with a new play-caller in Nick Caley. The defense is expected to be a top-five unit after the return of Danielle Hunter and Pro Bowler Will Anderson Jr. coming off the edge.
The Texans also made some big additions this offseason along the offensive line, including trading away five-time Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil to free up cap space. In his place, Houston traded up in the second round to acquire Aireontae Ersery out of Minnesota. The Texans also traded for do-it-all defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson to strengthen an already stellar secondary.
With DeMeco Ryans’ still having the reins on defense, there’s little doubt the unit should prosper under an aggressive style of defense that totaled 46 sacks. There were some encouraging moments from Houston’s starters last season and for the newcomers joining the fold, as evidenced by Pro Football Focus.
Here’s the projected grades for every Texans’ starter going into the upcoming season.
