Coming off another disappointing playoff loss, the Pittsburgh Steelers are determined to bounce back in 2025 under the NFL’s longest-tenured head coach, Mike Tomlin.
The retooling process continues during the 2025 NFL draft, where the Steelers picked defensive tackle Derrick Harmon in the first round (21st overall).

Steelers draft needs
The biggest question mark on offense is at quarterback with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields no longer on the roster. The Steelers’ front office has already made one major offseason move to help out whoever ends up starting at QB, getting wide receiver D.K. Metcalf from Seattle.
Pittsburgh has half a dozen blue-chip players on defense, including perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate T.J. Watt. Watt, alongside Cam Heyward, Alex Highsmith, linebacker Patrick Queen, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Joey Porter Jr. comprise the team’s defensive pillars.
