Mike Evans is considered by many to be the best Tampa Bay Buccaneers player of all time. Especially after tying Jerry Rice for the most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons in a career.

Whenever he offers his praises, it is worth listening to see who he is offering them to. The latest person to receive them is the Bucs top draft pick from April’s annual selection meeting, Emeka Egbuka.

Speaking with the media this week, Evans spoke about the rookie from Ohio State, saying, “I didn’t (expect to draft a receiver) either, but you know Jason (Licht) has always been great in drafts, and we wanted to pick the best players available, and from what I’ve seen so far, he was definitely the best player available, so, looking forward to a great year for him, Emeka.”

The praise didn’t stop there though as Scott Smith shared on socials.

Some folks have speculated that with both Evans and Godwin now approaching the older part of their careers, could the duo of Jalen McMillan and Emeka Egbuka be the Bucs’ way of planning for the future? Seeing Evans compare Egbuka compare him to Godwin can only add gasoline to those ideas.
