Let’s take a closer look at this Jacksonville Jaguars team as we go player-by-player through the roster. Up first is LB Yasir Abdullah.
With offseason programs now behind us, we will be getting a jump start on our training camp preview by going player-by-player through the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 91-man roster.
Going alphabetically, up is linebacker Yasir Abdullah.

A fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2023, Abdullah was a core special-teams player for a Jacksonville unit that was one of the best in the NFL last season.
Abudallah finished last season laying 259 special teams snaps, which was the fifth-most on the team, and that included him contributing regularly to four of the six different phases.
Of Abudallah’s 170 defensive snaps last season, 131 came on the defensive line as a pass rusher and run defender. Another 38 came as a box defender near the line of scrimmage, according to PFF. Abdullah would record eight pressures and 14 total tackles on the year.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season
At least on paper, it looks like making the 53-man roster this season is going to be an uphill battle for Abdullah. At defensive end, the Jaguars made several veteran additions as of late, not to mention that Dennis Gardeck and Jalen McLeod could both potentially fill that hybrid role.
As far as linebacker goes, while Abdullah was a core special teams contributor, that room just got a lot more crowded as well with the additions of McLeod and Jack Kiser in the draft, along with the team still having Devin Lloyd, Foye Oluokun, Ventrell Miller, and Chad Muma, among others.
