The Detroit Lions won’t be having mandatory minicamp this offseason.

In a release earlier this month, the NFL announced dates for each team’s offseason workout program, and the Lions were scheduled to have mandatory minicamp from June 10-12. In a revised schedule released Wednesday, however, the dates for Detroit’s mandatory minicamp were removed. The Lions were the only team to not have dates listed.

The move to cut the event is presumably due to Detroit’s participation in the Hall of Fame Game, which is slated to be played against the Los Angeles Chargers on July 31 (8 p.m. ET, NBC/Peacock). The Lions will likely be forced to begin training camp earlier than usual, and they’ll play four preseason games instead of three. An official start date for training camp has not yet been released.

Also new in the updated schedule: The Lions will hold their rookie minicamp from May 9-11.

The dates for Offseason Training Activities (May 28-30 and June 3-5) have not changed. Teams are allowed to conduct 10 days of OTAs, but the Lions are only using six. About half of the teams in the league are using six or fewer days.
