WASHINGTON (7News) — As training camp approaches, there’s really only one big question surrounding the Washington Commanders: Can they work out a new contract extension with wide receiver Terry McLaurin?

This quote might apply to this situation.

“When money talks, there are few interruptions.”

That’s true in almost every aspect of life.

McLaurin is coming off a career-high 13 touchdowns last year. But, he is also turning 30 in September. But he still wants to get paid, which is why he skipped organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp.

7News Sports Director Scott Abraham spoke with former Green Bay Packers vice president and current Sports Illustrated columnist Andrew Brandt about McLaurin’s contract situation.

“I think there is too much goodwill between he and the team, between him and the quarterback, between him and the community, between him and the fans. I think you will get him signed up,” Brandt told Abraham. “The devil is always in the details, but deadlines spur action. This is going to happen.”

During his time in Washington, McLaurin has played with 11 different starting quarterbacks.

The good news, I don’t think that number will be changing with Jayden Daniels under center.
