The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to “threepeat” last season while suffering one of their worst regular seasons statistically in recent memory.

But with Andy Reid at the helm and Patrick Mahomes under center, should teams be overlooking the Chiefs next season?
Some so-called experts have written them off, declaring, “The dynasty is over.” But is it?
Former NFL running back and six-time Pro Bowler LeSean McCoy doesn’t think so, and proclaimed that every team should still fear Kansas City.
“Yes, you should be worried,” said McCoy. “What the Chiefs do is go to the Super Bowl. Last season, they were up for a three-peat, and guess what, that was not even their best season. They did not play great, and they were still up for a three-peat. The question is, do we fear the Chiefs’ offense?”

“Now, some questions are that if Patrick Mahomes is still the best player in the league? Yes, at his worst, the AFC Championship game. At his best, Super Bowl Champ. They are only going to get better … For playing for Andy Reid for so long and knowing him, playing with Mahomes and Travis, they feed off these types of things. Because they know that they are that good. Yes, I still fear the Chiefs.”
Yes, the so-called “dynasty” took a hit with the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in February, but there’s a reason no team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row and very few have won two consecutive: it’s really hard.
The loss doesn’t sully any status of legend that Reid and Mahomes and the team have built prior to 2024, but instead, will solidify it if they can return to the mountain in 2025.
