WITH URBAN IMPACT. IT’S BEEN A WEEK OF COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR THE STEELERS ROOKIES. TUESDAY TOOK THEM TO PITTSBURGH’S NORTH SIDE WITH URBAN IMPACT. WITH THE WEATHER TUESDAY AFTERNOON, THINGS WERE MOVED INSIDE, BUT FUN WAS STILL HAD. THERE WERE FOUR STATIONS FOR KIDS TO ENJOY THAT INCLUDED A Q&A, A PHOTO BOOTH, AND FOOTBALL DRILLS. AND FOR MOST ROOKIES WHO ARE NEW TO PITTSBURGH, IT’S A CHANCE FOR THEM TO GET OUT AND GET TO KNOW THE COMMUNITY. IT MEANS A LOT, MAN, JUST FOR US BEING ROOKIES. WE COME AROUND THE CITY, REALLY GET TO KNOW THE CITY AND SEE WHAT’S GOING ON. THEN JUST GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY AT THE END OF THE DAY, BECAUSE THIS IS OUR COMMUNITY NOW. WE’RE GOING TO BE HERE FOR A MINUTE. SO IT MEANS THE WORLD, YOU KNOW, THIS IS SOMETHING I LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN WHEN IT CAME TO BECOMING AN NFL PLAYER, LIKE THE PLATFORM THAT WE HAVE, YOU KNOW, I REMEMBER BEING IN THESE KIDS SHOES, BEING YOUNG AND AND WANTING TO BE LIKE THOSE, YOU KNOW, THOSE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES. AND NOW THE FACT THAT WE ARE THESE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES AND CAN GIVE BACK, LIKE, I’M JUST EXCITED THAT WE HAVE THIS PLATFORM, THIS OPPORTUNITY TO DO THAT, THE STEELERS WILL HAVE ONE FINAL COMMUNITY EVENT ON WEDNESDAY OUT IN CLAYSVILLE TO ROUND OUT THE WEEK COVERING ALLEGHEN

Before the Steelers report to training camp next month, the team’s rookie players are getting to know the nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh.A week of community events for the rookies included a visit to the North Side with Urban Impact on Tuesday. And now, the fact that we are these professional athletes and can give back, I’m just excited that we have this platform, this opportunity to do that.”The rookies will have one final event in Claysville on Wednesday to round out the week.
