NFL player and Orlando-native talks about opening new health clinic

  • June 18, 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. – Kerby Joseph, a Jones High School grad and current Detroit Lions safety, will be opening a new health clinic in Orlando this Friday.

Joseph said he was motivated to open this clinic by his mom who suffered a stroke.

“I feel like the best thing is to help everybody else’s mom because I have the ability to do that,” Joseph said. “I love to give back to the community. I’ve got a couple of friends, and their mom is in the same boat. Just taking care of people and making sure the community is good is the main reason why I opened the clinic.”

Joseph spoke alongside Orlando District 5 Commissioner Shan Rose at City Hall on Tuesday. Joseph will receive the keys to the city at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new clinic this Friday, located off North Semoran Blvd.

“It shows his great spirit,” Rose said. “It shows his willingness to give back and his commitment to his community. He wanted to be sure to help the next stars.”

Kids can sign up for free sports physicals and EKG heart testing this Saturday morning. Joseph will also hold a NFL skills youth camp Sunday.

“I’m a beacon of hope for the city,” Joseph added. “Just to show the kids there is more to Orlando; there’s more to do outside of Orlando. When you become successful, it’s important to give back because you’re also inspiring the youth that follow in your footsteps.”
