The Tennessee Titans had excellent attendance during their offseason team activities, with almost every player participating in some activities. Even injured players were involved and were able to make an impression.

One of those players who made an impact, even though they were working their way back from injury, was rookie Kalel Mullings. The sixth-round pick out of Michigan was limited due to rehabbing an abdominal injury, but he opened the eyes of running backs coach Randy Jordan.

Speaking with the media, Jordan highlighted how Mullings’ experience as a linebacker was a significant benefit in the classroom and could help him continue to develop.

“He’s been great in the classroom.” Jordan said, “We gotta get him healthy, gotta get him ready to play for us when we get back.”

The Titans talked openly about adding a physical, downhill runner to their stable early in the offseason and followed that by selecting Mullings in the draft. Mullings plays with a physicality that Tennessee lacked, and could be a perfect power complement to Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears in the backfield.

A developmental prospect with upside, it will be fun to watch once Mullings is cleared, and he can show some of the tantalizing skill set that made him an attractive target in April.
