Long version: The Broncos have occupied their current stadium since 2001. Their lease to play games inside Empower Filed at Mile High, owned by the Metro Football Stadium District, ends in 2031. The Broncos “haven’t ruled anything out” in the ongoing evaluation process to determine what’s next.
It is possible the team will leave Denver city limits.
“We’re still looking at the current site, other sites around Denver, Lone Tree, Aurora,” Broncos co-owner Greg Penner said in March. “We don’t have a set timetable for making a decision. We obviously have our lease that ends (on) a certain date, which is a date that we could focus on. It could be something that would happen earlier than that. If we needed to, we could be in our current stadium longer.”
Potential factors driving stadium construction outside Denver include possible tax incentives, public transportation infrastructure, zoning for entertainment and residential development, and the availability and cost of land. The team’s training facility, Broncos Park, is located in Englewood.

Key context: Don’t lose hope for the Broncos to stay in Denver.
A series of land deals have been tied to the Broncos, as first reported by BusinessDen, around Burnham Yard as the potential site for a future stadium. A Broncos spokesperson told The Denver Gazette that “no determination has been made” as they evaluate all options moving forward.
The state currently owns Burnham Yard — a 58-acre historic rail yard south of Colfax Avenue and east of Interstate 25 — with plans to sell the property before May 2026.
