Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers offense ranked among the worst in the NFL in most statistical categories. This was despite major turnover at the quarterback spot. The Steelers have once again shuffled the quarterback room as well as brought in a new No. 1 running back and wide receiver. If this group doesn’t come together quickly and come out of the gates fast, the season could be over before it starts.
Pro Football Focus have their position rankings out ahead of the 2025 season and here is how the Steelers stack up against the rest of the league
Quarterback
PFF has Mason Rudolph ranked No. 31 of 32 starting quarterbacks ahead of only New Orleans rookie Tyler Shough but to be fair, this came out ahead of the Aaron Rodgers signing and he’s not included.
Running back
No Steelers running back made the cut in the top 32. This includes Jaylen Warren and rookie Kaleb Johnson. PFF does have rookies on the list but Johnson missed the cut.
Wide receiver
New Steelers No. 1 receiver DK Metcalf landed at tier four and at No. 23 in the NFL on the PFF rankings. Less than ideal for the team’s top pass catcher.
Tight end
Steelers starting tight end Pat Freiermuth could only make it up to No, 22 but he got dinged due to uncertainty at quarterback before the Rodgers signing.
Offensive tackle
Neither of the Steelers starting offensive tackles for this season or even their starting left tackle from last season, made the cut. We have high hopes for Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu to be on this list next year.
Offensive guard
Steelers starting right guard Isaac Seumalo checks in at No. 12 in their guard rankings and deservedly so. He’s the elder statesman of a very young offensive line and a team leader.
Center
The brightest of bright spots on the Steelers offense is center Zach Frazier. He is ranked at the No. 3 center in the NFL from his rookie season and he continued to improve right up until the end of the season.
