The Denver Broncos have been a merry-go-round of father-son duos who have played in the NFL.

Some of the most notable football father-sons from the Broncos are Jonah Elliss (whose father played for Denver, ) and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain, whose father Patrick was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro in his own right. The Surtain father and son duo appeared on Good Morning Football last Friday in honor of Father’s Day, which was celebrated on June 15.

The crew first sked the elder Surtain what it has meant to watch his son come into his own as the NFL’s best defender in the past few seasons.

“Oh man, it’s been awesome being a dad,” said Pat Sr. “Obviously as a father, he wants his kids to do better than what you did and he’s already exceeded what I’ve done in the league. Man, it has been an awesome journey just to see hard work pay off.”

Later on in the conversation, Pat Jr. was asked what kind of conversations he and his father have after particularly rough games. “Conversations are pretty good,” said the younger Surtain. “He gives me his feedback and we just talk ball.”
