The Notre Dame Fighting Irish just had a massive official visit weekend for some of the nation’s top committed and uncommitted talent, and there is PLENTY of good news on the way (hint hint). The first one to pulled the public trigger happened on Wednesday.
4-Star offensive lineman Grayson McKeogh gave his public commitment to Marcus Freeman and the 2026 Notre Dame football recruiting class.
The 6’7” 285 pounder from La Salle College in Glenside, Pennsylvania, chose the Irish over the in-state favorite Penn State Nittany Lions, as well as the Texas Longhorns, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, and more.
McKeogh is only scratching the surface of his potential as an offensive tackle and will only improve with more reps and experience. He hasn’t come close to filling out his frame either and should be able to carry another 30-40 pounds once he’s further into his college football career.
I think he has the skill set to play left tackle and while everyone will be thinking of the comparison to Joe Alt as a former tight end who made the switch seamlessly to tackle, the player I would compare him to is former Pitt OT Brian O’Neil. He took a little bit longer to refine his footwork and game, but eventually became a first team all-conference player in the ACC and a second round pick.
This is Notre Dame’s 17th commitment overall and the second from the state of Pennsylvania. The 2026 Notre Dame class is currently ranked #3 overall in the 247 Team Composite Rankings.

The Irish have really done a fantastic job along the offensive line in this class by grabbing three of the best in Michigan and two of the best in Pennsylvania. Clearly the Irish love a big boy from the North and will now end the recruiting cycle with arguably the best offensive line collection in the nation.

I’m not sure how much Notre Dame needed McKeogh in this class, and if you asked me about him last week, I would have said he’s a luxury that I’d love — but would be fine without his services. Notre Dame, however, treated McKeogh as one of the top prospects in this class and recruited the hell out of him to get the win over James Franklin. This, in fact, is a MASSIVE commitment for the Irish on multiple levels.
WELCOME TO ND GRAYSON!
