ESPN put together an All Quarter Century Team for the NFL. See what Cardinals players made it and who got snubbed.

As we are in the dead of the offseason and there is almost nothing happening in the NFL until late July, now we get lists and rankings. ESPN put together an All Quarter Century Team for the NFL, constructing a 53-man roster with the best players of the last 25 years.

The roster is sprinkled with a bunch of Arizona Cardinals players, some who played for Arizona at the end of their careers and others who were longtime Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals connections to NFL All Quarter Century Team

G Alan Faneca: The Hall of Famer played his final NFL season with the Cardinals in 2010. He deserves a spot. We can claim him.

DT Calais Campbell: This is a cool pick. Not only did he get drafted by the Cardinals and play nine seasons for them, he is back for his 18th season. While he only had probably two elite seasons, his consistent production over nearly two decades is something you can’t ignore.

DE J.J. Watt: Watt ended his career with the Cardinals and had 12.5 sacks in his final season. He only was one of the best defensive players in the NFL when he played. He’s an obvious selection.

CB Patrick Peterson: Some Cardinals fans remember his trade request, PED suspension and his badmouthing of former general manager Steve Keim more than the absolute dominance for his first eight NFL seasons. It is cool he makes the list.

Cardinals snubs

While it is hard to put everyone, there is one very noticeable absence.

WR Larry Fitzgerald: You see Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Justin Jefferson and Marvin Harrison Sr. and you get it, as all those players at their peak were probably better than Fitzgerald’s peak. But if Calais Campbell can make it, Fitzgerald probably deserves a spot on this roster.
