The nine-year cornerback also spent time with the Denver Broncos (2012), Oakland Raiders (2013), Washington Commanders (2014), and Chicago Bears (2015-2016).

Brett Maxie was a defensive back for 13 seasons in the NFL, including nine seasons with the Saints from 1985-1993. Maxie was signed as an undrafted free agent and played a crucial role in leading the franchise to their first-ever winning season after making a key tackle on fourth down against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After his time with the Saints, Maxie had brief stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and San Francisco 49ers.

The Saints will also be giving out two awards by the media selection committee. Former special-teams ace Steve Gleason will be the recipient of the Saints Hall of Fame Courage Award for his strength and courage to the New Orleans community.

Gleason has represented the resilience in New Orleans, and his revivifying punt block during the home opener after Hurricane Katrina has been labeled one of the greatest plays in franchise history.

Former WGNO Sports Director Ed Daniels will be announced as the recipient of the first-ever Joe Gemelli “Fleur de Lis” Award. Daniels is a New Orleans Native and has been working in Louisiana sports media since 1980. The former award-winning Sportscaster passed away in 2024.

The Hall of Fame induction and awards will take place during the weekend of the New Orleans Saints vs. the Carolina Panthers week 15 matchup.
