Steelers‘ trade target Jonnu Smith just received a Dolphins contract update — courtesy of his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
According to C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald, Rosenhaus told Miami’s WSVN 7 Sports Xtra that while contract talks between Smith and the Dolphins were “still fluid,” “nothing had been resolved yet.”
The contract update from Rosenhaus is two weeks removed from prominent NFL insider Adam Schefter’s report that the Dolphins and Steelers had renewed trade talks over the Pro Bowl tight end — and while Miami’s contract discussions with Smith are ongoing, the trade negotiations could be as well.
Smith is reportedly looking to remain a Miami Dolphin, but the holdup lies in contract talks — and if a deal between the two sides is out of the question at this point, the Steelers are looking to pair him with TEs Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington.
