Florida State Recruiting Class of 2026

Football

With the offseason entering its driest months, the mining for article topics is in full swing. ESPN’s latest attempt to fill the void is ranking college football’s most unbreakable records, placing Florida State’s run of top-five finishes from 1987 to 2000 at No. 3:

For all the late Bobby Bowden accomplished during his Hall of Fame career, his remarkable consistency could be the most impressive thing. His Florida State teams finished in the top five of every final AP poll from 1987 to 2000, an amazing run no matter the era.

Bowden finished his legendary 34-year career at FSU with two national championships (and could have won a few more had it not been for those dreaded missed field goals against Miami), and more importantly, he put Florida State football on the map.

Think about it: Fourteen straight top-five finishes. Pete Carroll had some dominant teams at USC, and the Trojans’ longest streak was seven straight top-five finishes (2002-08). The same is true for Oklahoma under Wilkinson (1952-58). And while Alabama won six national titles under Nick Saban, his longest run of top-five seasons was five in a row (2014-18).

The entire list:

Oklahoma’s 47-game winning streak
Barry Sanders’ 2,628 rushing yard season in 1988
Florida State’s top-5 finishes
Oklahoma’s wishbone onslaught, averaged a staggering 472.4 rushing yards per game in 1971
Florida quarterback John Reaves throwing an NCAA-record nine interceptions in 1969
Derrick Thomas’ 27 sacks for Alabama in 1988
Oklahoma’s Antonio Perkins being the first and only player in NCAA history to score on three punt returns in a game (2003)
USC running back Marcus Allen logging five straight 200-yard games in 1981
Patrick Mahomes FBS record with 819 yards of total offense (vs. Oklahoma, 2016)
Nick Saban’s 100 consecutive wins over unranked opponents.

Speaking of offseason content, Tomahawk Nation’s position and schedule previews are coming out every other day, with the latest being a look at the running backs:

Florida State golfers Lottie Woad and Sophia Fullbrook have been selected to represent the Great Britain and Ireland team at the Vagliano Trophy Championship at the Royal Hague Golf and Country Club in Wassenaar, Netherlands:

The Vagliano Trophy championship is a women’s amateur international golf match between players from Great Britain and Ireland against a team from the Continent of Europe.

Woad, the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, is a member of the eight-player GB&I team for the second time in her career. The six-time Seminole All-American earned three points with three wins in the 2023 Vagliano Trophy championship as the GB&I team fell to Team Europe by a 13.5-10.5 margin. Fullbrook will make her first career appearance in the Vagliano Trophy Championship in 2025.

Woad has been the No. 1 ranked player in the WAGR for 44 consecutive weeks – since July 31, 2024.

Woad earned All-American First-Team honors by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association and by Golfweek during the spring of 2025. She was a finalist for the WGCA Player of the Year award and named to the ANNIKA Award Spring and Postseason Award Watch Lists. Woad earned All-ACC honors for the third consecutive season as she helped lead the Seminoles to the first ACC Championship in school history. She was named the ACC Golfer of the Month for February 2025 and finished tied for the individual championship and helped lead the Seminoles to the team championship at the Moon Invitational.

Fullbrook is an incredibly consistent member of Florida State’s lineup who played in all seven team events including her first career ACC Championship, her first career NCAA Regional championship, and in the NCAA Championship Finals for the first time in her career during the spring of 2025. She finished third on the team in stroke average (73.38), tied for the team lead in round splayed (21), earned two top-10 finishes, and carded her season-low score of 70 in the third round of the Florida State Match Up.

Florida State volleyball announced the signing of Stefanija Pajic on Wednesday:

Pajic is from Trebine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is one of the top young European players. The 6-2 outside hitter was a member of the Turkish U-17 National Team that finished second in the European Championship and the Balkan Championship. Pajic also helped her team to first place in the Junior Championship of Turkey, the Cadet Championship of Turkey and the Pioneering Championship of Turkey.

Stefanija is the daughter of Bojana and Dragan Pajic. Her mother was a professional basketball player and her grandfather, Zoran Vraneš, was a professional soccer player for Partizan FC.
