Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was supposed to face Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles in a race this year, but that has since been canceled.
Lyles told reporters on Monday that he was not going to take part in the race against the NFL superstar, which was scheduled to take place this weekend, for “personal reasons,” according to the New York Post.

“Unfortunately, there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn’t come to pass, but we were full on,” Lyles said to reporters. “We were going to shut down New York’s Times Square and everything, it was going to be a lot of fun.”
But Hill isn’t buying Lyles’ explanation for canceling the race, with the Dolphins star hinting that the 100-meter Olympic champion, who won a gold medal in Paris last year, was ducking him.
Hill and Lyles have been in a back-and-forth ever since the former said he could beat the latter in a race. The two were set to square off in Times Square in a 50-yard showdown.

Hill is considered one of the fastest players in the NFL and has a track background as a two-time state champion in high school.

Last Friday, Hill showed off his impressive speed by posting a time of 10.15 seconds in a 100-meter sprint.
