According to multiple reports, including from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over early Tuesday morning in Cleveland and cited for going 101 miles per hour in a posted 60 mph zone.

Brown was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft by the Browns after playing his final two college seasons at the University of Colorado. Sanders was the center of heated debate during the draft as some pundits like ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. projected Sanders to be a first-round pick and his slide seemed to bring out the worst in many.

Sanders joined the Browns along with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, whom the Browns selected in the third round of the same draft. The two are now in a position battle in a crowded Cleveland quarterback depth chart that also includes veteran and projected starter Joe Flacco, along with former first-round pick Kenny Pickett.

As irresponsible as it is for anyone to drive over 100 miles per hour when it isn’t some sort of emergency, this incident will have no impact on Sanders’ career and assuming he doesn’t make a habit of it, will barely be a blip on the radar for Sanders.
