The Los Angeles Chargers held their 5th annual Nike 11-On this past weekend at The Bolt, the NFL team’s new state-of-the-art facility in El Segundo, California. The two-day event included over 750 tackle and flag participants from high schools across the Southern California region.
In the tackle competition, Orange Lutheran won the overall title. The Lancers, who finished No. 13 in the nation last year in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, went undefeated to win the 7-on-7 passing tournament championship. Nico Bland, a Class of 2026 wide receiver, earned the “Fastest Man” title and the Lancers also dominated the lineman challenges. Long Beach Poly, Palos Verdes, Mira Costa, and Newbury Park rounded out the top five.

Chargers wide receiver Tre Harris, tight end Oronde Gadsden, and defensive lineman Teair Tart attended Saturday’s tackle competition. The linemen received coaching from 15-year NFL veteran and 4-time Super Bowl champion Jesse Sapolu and his Men in the Trenches group.

The event began on Friday with 14 girls’ flag football programs. Los Angeles Chargers first-round selection Omarion Hampton and wide receiver Quentin Johnston were on hand as the teams competed in a variety of events, including the “Fastest Girl” race, farthest throw, and tug-of-war. Each team also played three games, with Western Christian going undefeated and taking home the championship title. St. Joseph, Orange Lutheran, Mira Costa, and Panorama rounded out the top five.
