Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over for going 101 miles per hour in a 60 speed limit zone. However, it turns out that was not his first time receiving a citation since he was drafted by the team less than two months ago.
Per the record from Sanders’ citation, the rookie fifth round quarterback was also pulled over on June 6th in Medina County for another speeding ticket. And it does not end there. Sanders then failed to appear in court after the citation on June 16. This is two days prior to being pulled over for his most recent traffic ticket.
Needless to say, this is not an optimal situation for a Day 3 rookie who is not a lock to make Cleveland’s 53-man roster to find himself in. With two veterans and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel all currently getting first-team reps ahead of him, this is not the way to win over the trust of the coaching staff and organization. Sanders has reportedly been a standout on the field, but this lack of judgment could cause him to take a hit in the race for QB1 in Cleveland.
Speeding tickets are not the end of the world, and players do not lose their jobs over them. However, Sanders does not have a job to lose.
