The Detroit Lions enter next season facing a few questions following a history-making 2024 season, among them how they’ll fare with new coordinators on offense and defense and, more recently, how they’ll replace retired center Frank Ragnow.

But what seems to be certain is the Lions still boast plenty of talent after a record-setting 15-win season that produced a second straight NFC North title.

Eight Lions dot CBS Sports senior writer’s Pete Prisco’s top 100 NFL players for 2025, unveiled Tuesday. That’s second-most, trailing only the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, who boast 10 players.

Leading the way for the Lions is defensive end Aidan Hutchinson at No. 15. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft saw last season get cut short after suffering a broken leg in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. He already had racked up 7½ sacks in five games.

Hutchinson, a former Michigan star, vaulted 32 spots from Prisco’s 2024 ranking of No. 47.

“Hutchinson was on his way to possibly being the Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 before suffering fractured tibia and fibula injuries,” Prisco writes. “Hutchinson was a menace before the injury.”

Offensive tackle Penei Sewell was next at No. 21. The 24-year-old owns three Pro Bowl berths in his four seasons.

“Sewell is in the conversation for best right tackle in the league,” Prisco writes. “He is good in both the run game and protecting for (quarterback) Jared Goff. He said he’s getting stronger this year to improve. That’s scary.”

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is No. 32 in Prisco’s list, followed by receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown at No. 58, safety Kerby Joseph at No. 60, and safety Brian Branch at No. 65.

“(Branch) is a good run player who also has the skills to cover,” Prisco writes. “He teams with Kerby Joseph to give the Lions the best safety combo in the league.”

Goff checks in at No. 77, and tight end Sam LaPorta rounds out the Lions’ list at No. 86.

“Goff is coming off his best season,” Prisco writes “… It will be interesting to see how he plays now that (former offensive coordinator) Ben Johnson is gone to Chicago as the coach, but I don’t expect much of a drop-off for Goff.”

Other notable from Prisco’s list with ties to the state of Michigan:

▶ 24. Sauce Gardner (Detroit King), cornerback, New York Jets

▶ 28. Maxx Crosby (Eastern Michigan), defensive end, Las Vegas Raiders

▶ 67. Nico Collins (Michigan), wide receiver, Houston Texans
