2024 Season Review

Bentley spent his final three college seasons at Ole Miss after spending the first three at SMU. For his career, which included 467 carries, Bentley averaged an impressive 5.5 yards per rush with 28 rushing touchdowns.

This past season specifically, Bentley carried the ball 84 times for 419 yards at 5.0 yards per rush. His most productive season came in 2020 when he rushed for 913 yards on 170 carries with 11 touchdowns.

As a pass-catcher, Bentley had a small role, totaling 25 targets over the last two years, and averaged 7.7 yards per catch, per PFF.

Looking ahead to the 2025 season

Bentley signed with the Colts following the 2025 NFL draft as an undrafted rookie. While the Colts are in search of more production from their running back depth behind Jonathan Taylor, which can create opportunities to earn playing time and a roster spot, Bentley has a lot of players to jump on the depth chart.

The Colts signed Khalil Herbert in free agency, drafted DJ Giddens, and returning from last season’s 53-man roster is Tyler Goodson. There is also Salvon Ahmed, who has his share of NFL experience.

More than likely, the ceiling for Bentley in his first NFL season is to make the practice squad, where he’ll have the opportunity to continue developing.
