“Guys are already here working, and they’re working hard,” Greenard said. “Guys are working their tails off. You would think we’ve got a game [on Sunday].”

If there’s one thing each player can commit to, Greenard added, it’s pushing just a little bit harder.

“You can only control your individual effort,” he said, “but as long as you do that, you’re going to pull somebody else; they’re going to see that, and it’s going to be infectious for the whole team, the whole building.”

It’s a mindset similar to the one Harrison Smith recently shared, with an emphasis on “dialing it up” a notch across the entire team.

Greenard referenced Smith’s decision to return for a 14th season as even more incentive to give 110 percent.

“We want to get him one,” Greenard said. “I mean, that’s just our M.O. What are we working for? You know, at this point, everybody in the league is trying to chase after it; only one person can hold it up. So for him to come back and take another year — it’s a grind, as we all know — so for him to do that another year, man, I’m honored to be a part of it.”
