Steelers Rumor Connects To Jalen Ramsey Trade At Cheap Price originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

We can argue that the Pittsburgh Steelers don’t have a glaring need at cornerback.

But what if they can get an upgrade – a big one – at the right price?

The hated Ravens did just that this week by signing corner Jaire Alexander to be their second boundary corner opposite Nate Wiggins. It’s a move that pushes them towards a Super Bowl … and it will cost them just $4 million in base salary.

What say you, Steelers?

What about a trade for Miami Dolphins corner Jalen Ramsey, Steelers?

Ramsey is 29 years old. He’s got 24 interceptions in 135 games, so he’s a ballhawk. Miami wants to dump him rather than pay him and so a trade is coming.

One report claims “Ramsey would cost $9.9 million in cap space to acquire” (we’re not sure about that math) but insider Mark Kaboly is now suggesting another affordable aspect of this potential get. On Kaboly + Mack. In th, he talked of the Steelers getting Ramsey for a fifth-round pick.

The Steelers have Darius Slay Jr. and Joey Porter Jr. at corner; that’s an accomplished pair. Ramsey, say, in the slot? That’s an accomplished trio.

There are issues here regarding what Ramsey might want to get as part of his future contract; it was just a year ago that he signed a deal with Miami worth $72 million. And one wonders … why do the Dolphins want out?

But, from what we know?

In the end, Ramsey makes sense on paper. … and if the cost is really this cheap? He makes sense in most every way.
