Atlanta releases former sixth-round pick Jase McClellan to make room for UFL star

On Tuesday, the Atlanta Falcons signed running back Jashaun Corbin and released former sixth-round pick Jase McClellan in a corresponding move. Corbin led the UFL with 514 rushing yards for the San Antonio Brahmas last season.

After entering the league as an undrafted free agent, the 24-year-old appeared in six games for the New York Giants in 2023. Corbin has one career rushing yard on one attempt, and 12 receiving yards on three catches in the NFL.

Still, the Falcons felt strong enough about the UFL standout to move on from McClellan, who looked good in the 2024 preseason. The former Alabama running back led Atlanta in rushing in two of the team’s three preseason games.

McClellan rushed for 30 yards in the opener against the Miami Dolphins and 55 yards the following week against the Baltimore Ravens. However, the rookie only appeared in two games during the 2024 regular season, rushing for 32 yards on 13 carries.
