Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski had a memorable reunion with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
A video from NFL insider Jordan Schultz shows Brady and Gronkowski breaking what appeared to be a replica of the trophy while playing a game of catch in a hallway during Fanatics Fest in New York City.
Brady tossed the award to Gronkowski, who caught the football-shaped top of the trophy as the base broke off and hit the carpet.
“You broke it,” Brady told Gronkowski as the two studied the broken trophy. “You are washed up. I’m going home.”
Gronkowski and Brady are no strangers to the Lombardi. The pair won three Super Bowls together with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady previously tossed the Lombardi while celebrating the Bucs’ 2020 Super Bowl win on a boat. His previous throw to Cameron Brate was more successful:
Brady and Gronkowski are in New York this weekend for the annual Fanatics event, which sets up athletes to test their skills against celebrities and fans.
The event runs through Sunday in a series of competitions featuring fellow former NFL icons like Dez Bryant, Julian Edelman and Eli Manning and current stars like Joe Burrow, Micah Parsons, C.J. Stroud, Myles Garrett, Bryce Young, Jayden Daniels, Tyreek Hill and Russell Wilson.
