A current WNBA star and a former NFL player had very different reactions to President Trump bombing Iran on Saturday evening.
The President of the United States announced on Saturday night, June 21 that he had bombed Iran. President Trump, who celebrated his 79th birthday earlier this month, announced his decision on Truth Social.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he announced.
He added: “This is an HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ISRAEL, AND THE WORLD. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR. THANK YOU!”

Some of the sports world has taken to social media to react to the big news.
Former NFL kicker Jay Feely, who played in the league from 2001-14, is praising President Trump for his decision.
“Tonight, President Trump acted decisively to protect the United States & our Israeli allies from the threat of a nuclear Iran. Under @POTUS , America’s national security is at its strongest. I have full trust in him to deter adversaries & uphold peace through strength,” he wrote on social media.
Meanwhile, WNBA star Natasha Cloud, who plays for the New York Liberty, is calling for President Trump to be impeached for his decision.
“A sad sad day,” she wrote.
“Grounds for impeachment.”
Cloud, 33, also shared messages on social media that read: “the three branches of government don’t operate under a system of checks & balances anymore democracy or autocracy” and “Impeach 47.”
Meanwhile, in the college basketball world, prominent coach Bruce Pearl is also praising President Trump.
“Thank you God for your protection over our troops. We are not at war with Iran, we are at war with Iran’s military nuclear program. The President wants peace, now the ball is in the court of the Iranian leadership. Irans terrorist reach has been diminished but still present,” he wrote.
