Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson provided a positive update about his availability for training camp, which begins on July 22nd.
Speaking with Zach Goodall, who covers the Florida Gators for 247Sports, Richardson said that he will be ready for training camp.

“I’m gonna be out there spinning it and getting ready for the season,” Richardson told Goodall. “I’m all good, just another bump in the road. And it’s not really even a bump in the road. I feel like I tripped, I fell. Just got back up and hit the ground running again.”
Richardson was back in Gainesville, Florida this past weekend to host multiple community events.
Richardson experienced shoulder pain early on in OTAs. After further evaluation, it was determined that the pain was related to the same AC joint that he injured during his rookie season.
Richardson would then get another opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who performed the original surgery. He was then sidelined for most of OTAs and all of minicamp.

Even if Richardson is available on Day 1 of training camp, we will have to wait and see if he’s a full-go on Day 1. As Shane Steichen mentioned, a ramp-up period may be needed upon his return.
While Richardson was sidelined, Daniel Jones took all of the first-team reps. Steichen said during minicamp that he was “very pleased” with Jones’ performance.
What took place in May and June won’t determine the quarterback competition, but with fewer opportunities this spring, Richardson will have to hit the ground running when camp begins.
