Odell Beckham Jr. may have learned that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

During the 2025 Fanatics Fest convention, when asked by a fan if he’d rather keep his Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams or go back in time and win with the Giants, Beckham said, “I never wanted to leave.”

Now, the 32-year-old remains a free agent awaiting an opportunity for the 2025 season after playing for the Miami Dolphins last year prior to his release in December. Could he find it in the place where his NFL career started?

A fan suggested at Fanatics Fest that Beckham should sign with the Giants.

“I got you,” Beckham said.

The former New York Giants star receiver has made it a mission this offseason to express his regret about the way things ended in the Big Apple. The latest admission comes less than a month after the receiver said the same during the UEFA Champions League Final broadcast.

“I never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants,” Beckham Jr. said. “The reason you heard me talking about what was going on was because I was pissed because, where I come from in college, if we lost one game, our season was over.”

The receiver continued, saying he wanted to be the one that guided the Giants to a Super Bowl victory.

“This was the organization I got drafted to,” Beckham said. “They believed in me. So if the Giants went and won a Super Bowl, I would be happy. But deep down inside, I wanted to be the one. No question. So it’s definitely you’ll always hold that. But then someone like me, I went to the L.A. Rams, won a Super Bowl. But still, you just want that.”

Beckham might insist now that he wanted to stay, but he was singing a different tune following a trade to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 – just one season into a five-year, $90 million extension.

The receiver called it a dream to play alongside his good friend and former LSU teammate, Jarvis Landry. Beckham also expressed excitement about the fresh start in Cleveland, which came after five up-and-down seasons with the Giants.

Beckham burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2014, despite playing in 12 games after a hamstring injury sidelined him to open the season. The rookie recorded 91 receptions, 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to being named the Offensive Rookie of the Year. The 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft quickly established himself as a superstar.

Injuries have played a big part of the story for Beckham in the years that followed, with his last full season coming in 2019. The receiver played a hand in the Rams winning the Super Bowl in 2021, which saw him exit early in that game with a torn ACL.

Beckham penned a career of highlights and lowlights, ranging from his unbelievable one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” to the bizarre kicking net saga in 2016.

Despite not having a roster spot or a training camp invitation anywhere at the moment, Beckham has given no indication of a desire to retire. While he seems to welcome the idea of a return to New York, it remains to be seen if the feeling is mutual.

Looks like the ball is, once again, in the Giants’ court.
