Upon being drafted No. 2 overall in April’s NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter signed a four-year, $46.65 million fully guaranteed rookie contract on Sunday, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Hunter’s contract includes a $30.57 million signing bonus paid entirely upfront by Jacksonville, which sets the record for being the first non-quarterback not drafted No. 1 overall to receive his entire bonus upfront. The deal has an average annual value of approximately $11.7 million and is worth $2 million more than what No.1 pick Cam Ward received from the Tennessee Titans, according to a USA Today report.

“What’s up, it’s your boy Travis Hunter, and we’re officially locked in,” Hunter said in a video on the Jaguars’ X account. “Let’s get started.”

Hunter’s big moment even got a reaction from social media creator and entrepreneur Deion Sanders Jr., who reposted Schefter’s report on his Instagram Story. Sanders Jr.’s support for the former Colorado Buffaloes two-way player is not surprising, given their strong relationship that developed over the past few years.

Sanders even posted a few videos on his Instagram Story last week of Hunter playing him in tennis. Sanders claims he beat him both times because Hunter is not the best at tennis.

“I just beat Travis in tennis twice,” he said. “I whooped him twice. And I whooped them in tennis twice. Yeah, so bro is really (expletive).”

Furthermore, Hunter has appeared in some of Sanders’ YouTube videos on his “Well Off” brands channel, which has reached 591,000 subscribers and 265,000 views on its latest video.
