After winning Super Bowl 59, Philadelphia made one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason. The Eagles traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans for offensive guard Kenyon Green. The teams are also swapping fifth—and sixth-round picks in 2026.

Philadelphia sent Gardner-Johnson and a 2026 6th-round pick to Houston in exchange for Green and a 2026 5th-round pick. A 2022 first-round pick out of Texas A&M, Green was among three Eagles that Howie Roseman had to decide whether to use the fifth-year option. Jordan Davis had his option exercised on Wednesday, but like Jahan Dotson, Green will not, Ian Rapoport reports.

Like Mekhi Becton, Green had an up-and-down career with the team that drafted him. Most importantly, he’s entering the last year of his rookie deal at a $2.88 million salary. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Texans traded down from No. 13 to No. 15 with the Eagles and selected Green.

Still just 23, Green missed two games as a rookie, the entire 2023 season, and five games last season with various injuries.
