The fifth annual ‘Tight End University’ summit will be taking place this week in Nashville. Do the Jacksonville Jaguars have any players who will be in attendance?
Tight End University (TEU) was founded in 2021 by George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen. It is a three-day program that this year includes 72 tight ends from around the NFL who will be in attendance.

“Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more,” says the TEU site. “In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game.”
TEU also gives back to the community by raising money for various organizations with the help of sponsors.
The Jacksonville Jaguars do not have any players attending Tight End University
The Jaguars’ organization has been extremely bullish all offseason on Brenton Strange, who now sits atop the team’s tight end depth chart.

Strange saw his role in the passing game increase last season, which included him hauling in 40 receptions for 411 yards. However, in Liam Coen’s offense, there appears to be a lot more opportunities coming Strange’s way in 2025. Last season in Tampa Bay under Coen, Cade Otton had the ninth-most targets of any tight end with 84 on the year.
Along with his contributions in the passing game, Strange further established himself as a strong blocking presence. When an offense has a well-rounded skill set at the tight end position, it adds some unpredictability to that unit, with that player able to fill a variety of roles.
“His work ethic, first and foremost, is hopefully a leadership attribute that the guys can model and see what he does on a day-to-day basis,” Grant Udinski said of Strange. “But from a leadership standpoint and just from a player standpoint, you see a guy with a lot of potential to just continue to grow, whether it’s in the pass game or the run game.
“A guy with a lot of physical traits that can be that balanced tight end and do a lot of different things that this offense will ask him to do.”

Beyond Strange on the depth chart, the GM James Gladstone reshaped that unit by bringing Johnny Mundt, Hunter Long, and Quintin Morris in free agency. All are experienced players who have been block-first tight ends in their careers. Having that element is crucial in Coen’s offense, where run game success is vital.
