EA Sports College Football is back for another season after its smashing return last year.

The video game series, previously titled “NCAA Football” before the game’s discontinuation over lawsuits brought about by former NCAA athletes over name, image and likeness, returned last summer to a hungry audience that had been starving for its product since the game’s last issue in 2013.

There were a lot of things we liked (and some we didn’t) in College Football 25. But all-around, EA Sports made a solid college football video game for the first time in 11 years and saved gamers the fatigue of only having the “Madden” NFL series to fall back on.

With College Football 26 set to return to stores and online giants on July 10, EA Sports is slowly releasing teasers, trailers and images from this year’s game. One change from last season is that real head coaches will be used in the game.

Enter Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, who on Tuesday was the talk of fans and video gamers alike on social media after an image of the coach’s likeness was posted in a screenshot from a new gameplay video.

The verdict? EA Sports had officially botched Dabo’s look.

Here’s how social media reacted to “Dabo Swinney” in College Football 26.

Good comp. I think if Jeff Daniels and Bob Odenkirk had a baby, it’s EA Sports Dabo Swinney.

— Jon Blau (@Jon_Blau) June 24, 2025Social media users sound off on Dabo Swinney’s appearance in EA Sports College Football 26

“Did Ari Wasserman or Finebaum have control of this?” one user wrote.

“looks more Liam Neeson-ish,” another added.

“Idk who that is,” a seperate user said.

“I see that Dabo has been lifting,” said another commenter.

“Maybe none of the 7000 pictures submitted were of Dabo,” one fan offered.
