Charlie Woerner to attend “TEU” camp run by Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen
Despite an offseason filled with trade speculation, the Atlanta Falcons don’t seem to be interested in moving fifth-year tight end Kyle Pitts. The former No. 4 overall pick is dealing with a lower leg injury, which kept him from participating in Atlanta’s organized team activities.
The Falcons are expecting big things from Pitts as he enters Year 2 in Zac Robinson’s offense, and more consistency at quarterback will likely help the former 1,000-yard tight end become a bigger factor this season. However, Pitts won’t be returning to the NFL’s “Tight End University” training program this week, likely due to his injury.
Another Falcons tight end, Charlie Woerner, is expected to attend this year. The camp is run by Travis Kelce, Greg Olsen and Woerner’s former San Francisco 49ers teammate, George Kittle.
The “TEU” program was started by Kelce, Olsen and Kittle back in 2021, during Pitts’ rookie season. Here’s a breakdown of the three-day program, via the official website:
Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program. Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more. In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game. — TE-University.com
