The 2025 NFL Draft saw the Buffalo Bills holding tight at pick 30 for cornerback Maxwell Hairston from Kentucky fall into their laps. I love the pick, and he was the best “fit” for the Bills at cornerback, in my opinion.
The focus now shifts to Day 2 (Rounds 2 and 3) of the draft, where Buffalo currently holds picks 56 and 62 in the second round. It should be noted that the Bills have two fourth-round picks and three fifth-round picks, all of which could be used as ammunition to trade up into the end of the third round.
Let’s look at some players I believe the Bills should consider on Day 2. These players aren’t necessarily who I think the Bills will draft, instead players I see as prospects the Bills should be interested in given who might be available when they pick at 56 and 62.
And just for fun, I throw some prospects worth considering at the end of the third round in case they decide to trade into that range.
Pipe-Dream Scenarios
It’s worth noting that I would love if some of the below players fell to the Bills at the end of Round 2, but it seems unlikely they will make it that far. Buffalo could get cheeky and try to trade up, but I’m not counting on it. Here are a few players who are unlikely to fall to the Bills, but I would be thrilled if they did. You never know!
Mike Green, EDGE (Marshall)
Nick Emmanwori, S (South Carolina)
Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE (Boston College)
Considerations for picks 56 and 62 (Round 2)
Darius Alexander, DT (Toledo)
I would be ecstatic if the Bills were able to take Alexander. He can play either DT position and has the potential to become a game wrecker from the inside. He’s my favorite option for the Bills in Round 2 if he makes it to 56.
Luther Burden III, WR (Missouri)
It’s tough to get a read on where Burden will go; he might come off the board in the first five picks of the second round, or he might slip. I’ve said it before, but Burden is a play maker, and the Bills need more play makers on offense.
Forget the need for speed, an outside WR, or a good contested catch guy. I don’t care about all that. Give me someone who makes plays when Allen throws him the ball — that’s Burden.
Nic Scourton, EDGE (Texas A&M)
A solid EDGE prospect who would fit in nicely to Buffalo’s defensive line rotation. A power rusher who has some bend to work with. He’s a disruptor in the run game, something the Bills will like.
T.J. Sanders, DT (South Carolina)
A three-down DT who has some juice as a pocket pusher from the inside. He isn’t exactly the block-eater 1-technique the Bills might be looking for, but he can hold his own defending his gap.
Alfred Collins, DT (Texas)
Collins is a massive human (6’6”, 332 pounds) and would be a fantastic developmental option to learn behind DaQuan Jones. Collins would likely play mostly at 1-technique, but can be utilized across the defensive line.
Carson Schwesinger, LB (UCLA)
Linebacker wasn’t on my bingo card for the Bills on Day 2, but Schwesinger’s skills might be too good to pass up. Milano is in the last year of his contract. Dorian Williams has played well when called upon, but he leaves something to be desired in pass coverage. Schwesinger can do it all and will bring a difference-maker to Buffalo’s second level.
Jayden Higgins, WR (Iowa State)
Higgins is a monster wide receiver (6’4”) who has the feet and fluidity of a slot guy. This productive WR in college would be fun to watch catching passes from Josh Allen. Having Keon Coleman (6’3”), Dalton Kincaid (6’4”), and Jayden Higgins all on the field at the same time for the Bills feels like a matchup nightmare.
Jack Bech, WR (TCU)
Bech isn’t elite at anything but is good at many things. He’s a hard worker who can block, has good separation skills, and can be effective down the field.
J.T. Tuimoloau, EDGE (Ohio State)
Tuimoloau was a big reason why Ohio State went on a national championship run, producing 6.5 sacks in the playoffs. He is aggressive and a tone setter, something Bills fans would enjoy.
Landon Jackson, EDGE (Arkansas)
Jackson isn’t my favorite EDGE prospect, but his potential is exciting. He has the frame to work into the mold of a Greg Rousseau type, but he has some developing to do. The Bills like athletic freaks, and Jackson certainly is that.
Third Round Considerations if the Bills trade
Xavier Watts, S (Notre Dame)
Watts is a ball hawk, nabbing 13 interceptions over the past two seasons. An instinctual and high-football-IQ guy who excels at jumping routes when he is a deep safety.
Jalen Royals, WR (Utah State)
Insane burst and acceleration give Royals serious YAC ability. I think Royals is a little underrated and would be a nice fit in Buffalo’s offense.
Elic Ayomanor, WR (Stanford)
A prototypical “X” wide receiver who’s big and fast. A true outside guy that would be a good fit in Buffalo’s offense. He may need a year or two to develop before he is ready, but his traits are ones to take a chance on.
Kyle Williams, WR (Washington State)
Williams is a deep threat tailor-made to fit right in with Buffalo’s offense. A spot the Bills are lacking in is at field stretcher, and Williams can do just that after averaging 17.1 yards per catch in college.
Jack Sawyer, EDGE (Ohio State)
Sawyer is an edge setter who has a forte for shedding blocks. His strip sack and score in the college football playoffs are an indication of showing up in the big moments.
Joshua Farmer, DT (Florida State)
Farmer had a great Senior Bowl, showing off his strength and power. He isn’t the biggest DT but his long arm and explosive lower half help him maintain control over his blockers.
Ty Robinson, DT (Nebraska)
Robinson was a top tester among DTs at the NFL Scouting Combine and has the frame to pack on a few more pounds. Robinson’s athleticism shows up on tape, making him a versatile defensive lineman that the Bills could use in various ways.
