The Plainview Bears held their 2025 Lift-a-Thon Thursday Night at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum.

The event allowed Bears fans to come out and cheer on the Bears as they try to set a new maximum weight in either the bench press, power clean or squat.

Each player was allowed to set their goal for the night for just one lift.  The event was a success as the majority of the Plainview roster were able to set a new max weight in the lift that they choose.

“We look to improve on last season and are expecting good things this fall. I want to thank everyone who came out to support these young men,” said Plainview Head Coach Dale Pruitt.

Plainview will now finish off the month of June with a 7-on-7 camp at Scottsboro on Thursday. The Bears will begin fall camp on Aug. 7.

The Bears finished the 2024 season with a 5-5 record, just missing the playoffs. Plainview will open the season on Thursday Aug. 21 against Anniston in a Jamboree. The first official game will be on Aug. 29 as the Bears travel to Huntsville to take on Westminster.
