The Carolina Panthers have another student enrolled at Tight End University.
This year’s tight end summit—once again headed by founders Greg Olsen, Travis Kelce and George Kittle—was originally scheduled to host three current Panthers . . . or at least it seemed that way. TEU’s 2025 class announcement, which was posted to their social media on Sunday, featured over 70 former and active tight ends—including Carolina’s Tommy Tremble, Mitchell Evans and Dominique Dafney.
Noticeably missing from the bunch, however, was 2024 fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders—who is set to enter his second NFL campaign.
Well, it turns out he actually is over there in Nashville, Tenn.—as evidenced by this clip from Wednesday . . .
With Tremble in the early stages of recovery from his recent back surgery, Sanders could play a bigger role for the Panthers in 2025. In fact, the 22-year-old reportedly looked leaner and faster during the team’s offseason workout program.
“J.T. heard that message, took it seriously and he really came back in such great shape,” head coach Dave Canales said of Sanders at OTAs, via The Athletic. “I’m proud of him for taking those steps. And it makes me feel confident about him going into the summer, having a plan for his prep and looking for a big year out of him.”
Sanders recorded 33 receptions for 342 yards and a touchdown as a rookie in 2024.
