There is no doubt that Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward has been one of the least celebrated first-overall selections of the NFL draft in recent memory.

Not only was he the first top quarterback pick since Cam Newton to not get to play in a primetime game as a rookie, but Ward’s draft moment came across as an afterthought by the networks covering the event, focusing more on Mr. Irrelevant than the No. 1 pick.

That is all about to change.

Streaming network Tubi recently announced the acquisition of the six-episode sports documentary series “Zero Star: The Cam Ward Story,” which breaks down Ward’s inspirational story from being a zero-star recruit to eventually becoming the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

This documentary series, produced by Firebrand Media, is set to be released in September and will give fans a detailed look at Ward’s meteoric rise throughout his college journey.

“Cam’s journey isn’t just about football — it’s about heart, belief, and the power of second chances,” director and Firebrand partner Alec Roth told Variety Magazine. “This series gives viewers an unfiltered look at a young man who was told ‘no’ at every stage yet refused to quit. From backyard games in West Columbia to draft night glory, Cam’s story unfolds across six episodes filled with raw emotion, defining moments, and behind-the-scenes access. It’s a modern hero’s journey — and a blueprint for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked.”

Ward’s rise to prominence should not be overlooked and has been a giant missed opportunity for the league. He made history not only by being the first zero-star college recruit selected first overall, but he also became the first player with that status to be a first-round pick in this century.

While he may not be in the NFL spotlight as a rookie, Ward will be in the spotlight of Nashville, and Titans fans are excited about the next chapter of his story to play out.
