“I think he’s ready for a bounceback,” Chadiha said on One Bills Live. “Ultimately, third year, coming back from injury, he has talent. I think big things are ahead for Kincaid.”

Similarly, Coleman came back with a motivated mindset going into his second season.

“He looks very smooth right now. I feel like he’s put on some muscle, he’s moving quicker, not just physically but mentally with our offensive system. I just think he’s attacked this offseason the way you would want a second-year receiver to attack,” Allen said.

“Keon has been focused, dialed in,” Beane added.

Beane developed a close relationship with Coleman agent’s Paul DeRousselle over the last year. While Coleman himself was blunt about his own rookie season, he’s also been quick to seek advice from his agent and internally with the Bills about how he can grow in year two.

“Keon can take (criticism),” Beane shared. “For a young man, I give him a lot of credit… he’s worked hard the whole time. You can see when he and Josh were here, that they’re forming that rapport and picking up where they were last year pre-injury.”

The coaching staff and Coleman’s teammates have also been adamant with the receiver that his rookie season featured plenty of success and those moments need to be remembered as well.

“I love the kid, he’s got such a good head on his shoulders, he’s a very positive person and he loves the game of football,” Allen said. “That’s what I love about him is he wants to be the best that he can be, and we’re gonna continue to work hard and get to a good spot heading into the season.”

The national media critique that Buffalo doesn’t have enough top end receiving weapons could become an afterthought if Coleman and Kincaid take the next step in their development.

“You need one of those skill players to step up as a true one-on-one man [coverage] beater,” said ESPN’s Mina Kimes on NFL Live. “Someone who can get you big plays downfield. Maybe it’s Keon Coleman, maybe it’s Dalton Kincaid. To me, that has been the missing piece in this offense.”
