George Pickens just can’t catch a break — and for good reason.

After being swarmed on social media by angry Steelers fans over his decision to skip out last minute on his youth football camp, a former Bengal jumped in on the criticism.

On the Nightcap podcast with Steelers legend James Harrison, former Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh blasted Pickens for not thinking about the children in attendance:

“[The kids] just want to see George Pickens,” Houshmandzadeh said. “So, disappointed a lot of kids, and I’m sure he don’t care about that, but once you say you going to something, whether you play for the Steelers, you play for the Cowboys, it’s a day out of your time. … So now he’s lost fans. And I don’t know if you know George — I’ve been around him a little bit — he just don’t give a d—, bro. His representatives were like, ‘Hey, you need to do this.’ He probably was like, ‘No, I ain’t doing it. I don’t care. I ain’t doing it. I don’t care what you say. I’m not doing this.’”

One could argue that Pickens’ reputation wasn’t that high to begin with, considering his immature antics both on and off the field during his time in Pittsburgh.

Will Pickens turn over a new leaf in Dallas, or will his possible implosion on the Cowboys serve as another reminder that HC Mike Tomlin knew best how to handle disgruntled receivers?
